Antique collectibles?

Question: Antique collectibles?

(Posted by: flagguttie on 2008-12-24 16:39:56)

Besides finding the Antiques Road Show where could I find a respectable web site of which I could obtain proper values of collectibles such as Dolls, perfume bottles, maps and firearms?

The most respectable place would be Christie's auction house or Sothesby's thought I think they merged in some business matters not long ago. You can check them online too.

BBC Antiques Roadshow start their 32nd series in March and are filming at 19 UK venues. Easy enough to find. But the problem for you is that you need to join each valuation queue one at a time. You'd be there all day. eBay is as good a site as any. But you need to be able to identify your stuff quite accurately before you can make accurate comparisons. Christie's and Sotheby's both have fee structures that discourage the entry of lower-value items. I'd go for Bonhams or one of the larger provincial auction houses.
